![]() I think the 2009 workup made it more luxury while keep the sports sedan responsiveness. I still love the drive, best I've had in the 17+ cars I have owned. Same take off the plastic covers to do anything, but this no dipstick business is just ridiculous. ![]() I am getting a high revving second sometimes and might need to see if the stream is flowing slow and steady by removing the 17mm Allen bolt? Just getting to know the audi/VW tech's tricks. For instance I just learned that it has no tranny fluid dipstick either? Even though it is basically an automatic if you don't count the Tiptronic manual feature CVT. I will purchase either one if I can get a definite answer about my car which is a 2009 A4 Quattro 2.0TFSI. Can you give me a definitive yes or no? From reading that guy's website and the entire three-page thread the question originated from, I am assuming that if I get the dipstick that I referenced above I will be reading full at the "a" in "Max." on the dipstick. I already read that and still have the same question. Anyway, he said he replaced it “free” and I haven’t heard the sound since.Thank you. OH! And about the high pitch sound - when I picked up the car the mechanic said he noticed it too and that it was some hose or something in the power steering (at this point I was so irritated by him that I wasn’t even listening to what he was saying). Only reason I went to him was that he is my friend’s dad. That night I talk to an old friend who knows about cars and he tells me point blank that I’m getting ripped off.Īnyway… I have my car now, it seems to be running fine and I’m never ever going back to that mechanic again. WHAT THE _! He tells me I shouldn’t drive the car like this so he’s gonna fix it and gives me another quote of $700 (I had just paid him $800 the previous week). When I get there they put it up and now say that my water pump is broken. I keep my eye on the gauge and drive to the shop like that (shop was only 10 mins away). On my way to the shop, coolant light turns back on. So I tell him that I’m not checking shit and I take him the car during my lunch break for him to look at. He says to check and see if there’s another leak (mind you, a coolant leak is why I took the car to him in the first place and he had supposedly fixed it by replacing a hose). Call the shop and tell him what happened. Just go along with this a minute: A few years ago at the dealer I was working at this Passat 2.0t gets towed in and the complaint was somewhere along these lines 'Customer States hit object in road and all of the oil came out when parked' Now this car had hole roughly. Pop the hood open and the damn thing is down at the “minimum” line. The 2.0t and Vw 2.5 run absolutely awful when you create a leak like this. After cursing for a sec, I find the nearest Chevron and buy some coolant. After I picked up the car, I drove it around for the weekend and tried to ignore the early morning high pitched sound since it seemed like most of the initial comments on here made me feel like it probably wasn’t a big deal and also the car drove fine.įast forward to Monday morning when on my way to work, CEL starts to flash and car says “STOP” in big red letters on my dash and the coolant light pops on.
